About the Foundation
Our aim is to support projects that help people change their lives for
the better. The majority of our grants are awarded to non-profit
community organizations active in such areas as housing, education and
social services.
The Foundation’s Board of Trustees is made up of eight St. John’s
parishioners and seven members of the community. We meet four times a
year to review applications, award grants and monitor the use of
dispersed funds.
Funding for the Foundation is provided by St. John's Episcopal Church. St. John's funds the Foundation from income it receives for leasing some of its property to Canterbury Green, a mixed-use development of offices, apartment and shops. The Foundation also subsidizes rents for sixteen apartments in Canterbury Green.
The Foundation has no staff or overhead expenses. 100% of the funds
provided to us go directly to community agencies and organizations.
